Ingredients:
- 1 whole turkey 12-14 pounds
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh sage, minced
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups chicken or turkey broth
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 325F 165C
In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, rosemary, thyme, sage, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to create a herb rub
Remove the giblets from the turkey and pat it dry with paper towels
Rub the herb mixture all over the turkey, both outside and inside the cavity
Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour the chicken or turkey broth into the bottom of the pan
Cover the turkey with aluminum foil and roast in the preheated oven for 3-4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165F 74C
Remove the foil during the last 30 minutes of roasting to allow the skin to crisp up
Once done, let the turkey rest for about 30 minutes before carving
Serve and enjoy your delicious Herb-Rubbed Roasted Turkey!
