Herb-Rubbed Roasted Turkey



The succulent and succulent herb-crusted roasted turkey serves as the main course of your Paleo Thanksgiving meal. The aroma and flavor of the turkey are enhanced by the blend of fresh herbs and spices.

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole turkey 12-14 pounds
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh sage, minced
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups chicken or turkey broth

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 325F 165C

In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, rosemary, thyme, sage, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to create a herb rub

Remove the giblets from the turkey and pat it dry with paper towels

Rub the herb mixture all over the turkey, both outside and inside the cavity

Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour the chicken or turkey broth into the bottom of the pan

Cover the turkey with aluminum foil and roast in the preheated oven for 3-4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165F 74C

Remove the foil during the last 30 minutes of roasting to allow the skin to crisp up

Once done, let the turkey rest for about 30 minutes before carving
